deep red hibiscus flowers match the color of the leaves
will quickly grow into a medium sized shrub

will self-seed and can also be grown from cuttings
make tea out of the leaves and flowers, or add them to salad (they are tart and tangy)

to avoid confusion, and this is a fairly common confusion: cranberry hibiscus is not the same plant as Jamaican roselle.
they are related, both being Hibiscus, but aside from that, they are very distinct in appearance.
the confusion comes from calyx of the roselle being called “Florida Cranberry” while this plant is referred to as “cranberry hibiscus”.
cranberry hibiscus (H. acetosella) does not form fleshy calyxes like the roselle (H. sabdariffa).
it will, however, last longer than the roselle, which often lasts just one season.
since cranberry hibiscus and Jamaican roselle thrive under similar conditions, you could grow them both side-by-side, and it would look awesome.

live plants are affected by the shipping process, but you can expect them to rebound quickly when given adequate care.
